[The Rite of Descension is, of course, not Liyue's only holy day surrounding Rex Lapis.
There are a number of other rites and rituals throughout the year. The Rite of Intonation. The Rite of Innocence. A lesser-known one is the Rite of Abundance, which stopped being celebrated in its most ancient form long ago. In the olden days, certain old texts claim, young men were offered to Rex Lapis that he might partake of their virility and strength. The interpretation of these words have now become a point of contention for many Rex Lapis scholars and historians. Was this a form of human sacrifice? Did Morax have these young men undergo divine trials? Or was this some sort of tournament, perhaps, not unlike the Crux Clash of the modern age?
The Tianquan, in her infinite wisdom, knows the truth. Celebrating the Rite of Abundance in public became taboo a long time ago, and so the rite now happens in secret, behind closed doors and among the most trusted aides of the Qixing.
How unfortunate, then, that in the wake of Rex Lapis's "death," all of the Tianquan's most trusted officers are women. Moreover, the only two men who are not contracted adepti but still know that the god now walks among mortals are... Aether the traveler, and the Eleventh Harbinger, Tartaglia.
